Welcome to Saddle Ridge Stables in Oregon, Wisconsin

Horses are pretty happy here at Saddle Ridge Stables. Owner Randy Mussehl is on the premises most every day, keeping tanks fresh, fences hot, and mowing the expansive horse pastures to reduce weeds and keep the bugs down. Boarders of all types including trail riders, barrel racers, hunter/jumpers, eventers, Dressage, Western and English Pleasure horses enjoy Saddle Ridge, and cooperatively enjoy the facility. There are a list of expertise farriers that come on a regular schedule, and a convenient vet visit from our neighbor Country View Vet service weekly.

Horses are not overcrowded in their turn-outs or rough board, and some are hand led to and from their particular turnout pastures.

Frequently there are cook-outs at the barn. There are group trail rides (or go on your own) to explore the 800 acres with trails accessible from the farm, trails which link up with Judd's Green Acres and the UW Hoofers boarding facility so that you can ride your horse to a schooling show!

From a trainer's perspective it is a very nice place to work. All outside instructors are welcome, so that you can bring your favorite teacher here for lessons. Even with the 70 horses on the farm, there are many instances when I've had the entire arena to myself for a several hours at a time while I teach horses to drive. There is a round pen, roomy indoor arena with viewing area, and a full size outdoor Dressage arena.

Being in the driftless area of Wisconsin means that pastures and the outdoor facilities dry out with remarkable speed, and we don't have the huge numbers of mosquitos in comparison to other areas nearby.
